Design At first glance, the Redmi Note 6 Pro looks like the previous Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The company has made some changes in the design of Redmi Note 6 Pro but there is nothing new in it. The Redmi Note 6 Pro is a 0.21 mm thicker phone than the previous Redmi Note 5 Pro. The smartphone comes with a metal unibody design with curved edges and curved sides. A dual rear camera with an LED flash is provided on the rear of the phone. There is also a fingerprint sensor and Xiaomi branding on the back panel itself. Corning Gorilla Glass has been given in the phone. As always, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has a bright and vibrant display. Users have the option to hide Notch. Overall the display is good and the display experience was good in terms of this price segment.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Software

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system based company's MUI 10. The company has done many customizations in the UI and with new features, it gets fun like Android 9.0 Pie. For example, the notification panel is now in round shape which is similar to the new Google Material Design 2.0 update. Google search access can be done by swiping up on the display. Apps can be viewed by swiping left. Apart from this, there is also 'Xiaomi Guide'. From here, many tasks like clearing cash, creating new notes, adding calendar events can be done from one place. Like other smartphones of Xiaomi, all the apps of Xiaomi come pre-installed in the Redmi Note 6 Pro. There is no app drawer in the phone which means that all apps will remain on the home screen. The device also has dual app mode through which you can use an app with an account. The handset also has a one-handed mode, which makes the screen smaller and easier to use. Apart from this, the phone also has all the features of Android 8.1 Oreo.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has the same processor as the previous variant. It has a 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. RAM is 6 GB and inbuilt storage is given 64 GB. Users can increase storage up to 256 GB via microSD card. We noticed during the review that the phone has multitasting easily. Switching between apps is easy and there is no problem. The gaming experience was also good. We notice that there is a problem of hanging while playing heavy graphics games. Apart from this, the phone is also hot. The phone starts heating up after playing the game for about 45 minutes. We also used some editing apps and these too run well without any problems.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

Talking about audio performance, audio performance of Redmi Note 6 Pro is good. We heard different types of music and the sound was great with headphones. However, the quality of the loudspeaker is average. Overall Performance of Redmi Note 6 Pro is good. The company could have given a more powerful processor in the phone. If you have Redmi Note 5 Pro, then Redmi Note 6 Pro is not a great option for you.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Camera

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has two camera sensors on the front and rear. The smartphone has a 12-megapixel AI dual camera with aperture F / 1.9 with LED flash. The phone has a 5 megapixel depth sensor. Crisp and clear pictures come from the rear camera of the phone even in low light. Indoor and low light images are clear and have very little noise. The phone rapidly focuses the object. At the same time, pictures taken in the light of day come bright and the detailing is also good. Sometimes the pictures taken from the phone are very sharp, while sometimes the sharpness is absolutely dull, this problem is due to software or some other reason. Along with this, we also saw a little noise in the pictures. We also saw a problem like a hang in the camera app and image processing.

The front of the device has a 20-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary sensor with super pixel technology. The front camera brings great pictures and the selfies are great. However, the pictures taken in portrait shots from the front camera remain very spectacular. Overall performance of the smartphone is good and in terms of price, the camera remains fine.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Battery

A 4000mAh battery has been given in Xiaomi's new Redmi Note 6 Pro. The company claims that the battery will get up to 2 days of battery life on a single charge. During our review, we noticed that the battery of the device consumes faster with more use and does not last even a day. At the same time, with normal use, the battery lasts for one to one and a half days. The company claims that the battery supports quick charging. However, to use this feature, you will need to buy a second charger from Meadotcom.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

Final decision

The initial price of Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is Rs 13,999. The affordable price of the device will work in favor of the company as no other company has such a powerful phone at this price. The build quality of the Redmi Note 6 Pro is strong and the specifications are also excellent in terms of budget price. The company has given four cameras to the device to lure customers. In our opinion, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is a great option for these people who want to get a phone worth more than Rs 10,000. But, if you are using Redmi Note 5 Pro, then this is not a good option for you. Honor 8X or Reality 2 Pro can be a better option than this.
